What is the objective of the ASHA assessment?
ASHA is intended to help financial institutions and developers gain an understanding of a housing development’s social sustainability across four outcome areas (i.e., affordability, local economy, health and wellbeing and safety and security) and along the four stages of development (i.e., project definition, planning and design, construction and operations). In that regard ASHA seeks to promote social sustainability and housing affordability principles among housing developers, policymakers, and financial institutions.
Are READ and ASHA certifications?
No, READ and ASHA are assessment tools intended to inform due diligence and decision-making processes as it relates to housing finance and investment; unlike EDGE, READ and ASHA are not certifications issued by a certifying agency.
